FIND THE SILVER LINING.

Yep, things are crazy! Our province just declared a state of emergency. Almost everything is closing. Inconvenient? Yes. Irritating? Yes. Overkill? No.

Best case scenario is we do all of this and nothing much happens. That would be excellent.

Worst case scenario, we don't do any of this and things spiral out of control.

So most of us are stuck at home.

So what is your silver lining?

What can you do during this time to make the most out of it?

Maybe your marriage has been struggling. Now would be a really good time to have some deep conversations. No one can leave. 😉 Maybe you have a great marriage but you haven't had time to be intimate? 😉 Well....now you do.

Maybe you have been feeling disconnected from your children? Now is a great time to reconnect.

Maybe you have wanted more time to work on your physical health?  Get to it. 
Maybe you have wanted to write a book but could never find the time? Perhaps now you do.

There is a silver lining in all of this. I would LOVE to hear what your silver lining is. If you have several, please list them all. I think this will help others to see what the are not currently seeing. Please post in comments.

My list is getting very long! I am also realizing how much we take for granted in our daily lives.  Someone said to me today, "I can't wait till life is back to normal." I paused, thought, and then replied, "It will never go BACK to normal. It is going to progress into a NEW normal. A BETTER normal. Things are not ever going to be the way they were. They are going to be better." Because my hope is that our priorities are going to change.

So anyway, find your silver lining today and every day.

Day 2: The Power of Positivity Challenge Today we Day 2: The Power of Positivity Challenge

Today we need to spread LOVE, not FEAR. Today and every day actually!

Our kids are watching. Our teams are watching. Our co-workers are watching. We need to be role-models in this scary time. That doesn't mean we can't feel fear. It means we need to try to rise above it and not project it onto others.

What can you do today to spread love? Who could you spread love to? How can you be a light among the darkness that is shadowing our world right now? How can you make a positive impact in your world?

Think about it, share below in the comments (it may inspire someone else) and then DO IT. <3 
Today, I choose to spread love through this post. I choose to spread love to my fitness community. I choose to spread love to anyone that sees my business posts. I choose to spread love to my children. I choose to spread love to my daughter's teacher. 
How?  By going above and beyond for all of them. By offering them support. By providing them with resources. By sending an encouraging note. By calling them.

What can you do? Big or small. It doesn't matter the size, it matters that you put thought into it. It matters that you are making an attempt to be the light.

In the midst of the chaos, we must remain focused and grateful.

There is so much that is out of our control right now. But one thing we do have control over is how we choose to react to everything that is going on around us. 
The purpose of this daily challenge is to try to keep ourselves in a positive mindset and to focus on the things we can control.

Today we can focus on gratitude.

In the comments section, please list 10 things you are grateful for today. If you are grateful for certain people, tag them in the post too.

Let's share love and gratitude far and wide today!

I don't know about you, but I can feel my mood rapidly declining in the midst of all of this Coronavirus news. 
My newsfeed is FULL of the same shit, posted over and over and over again.  I have seen NOTHING positive in my newsfeed for days! So last night as I realized how this was affecting my mental health, I realize it was doing the same to almost everyone I know.

So instead of just allowing that to continue, I thought about what I could possibly do to create a change in my environment. In your environment.

Our thoughts are POWERFUL! So powerful. You think doom and gloom all day, of course your mood is going to change. The way you view the world is going to change. The way you view life changes.

We need to be positive. We need to be joyful. We need to be loving. We need to be caring. We need to spread positivity into this world right now. For the sake of our mental health. For the sake of our children. For the sake of finding the meaning in the midst of all this chaos.

P.S. I am aware that this situation is serious. I have spent several days reading RELIABLE news sources. I am not taking away from that. What I am trying to do is remind people that in every situation, you can still find joy.

No matter how bad or tough yesterday was or even h No matter how bad or tough yesterday was or even how great it was....today is a new day to have a great day!

Far too often we let one bad/off day turn into two days, into three days and then it gets harder and harder to shake that shitty feeling.

There are lots of ways to combat that issue, but you have to find something that works best for YOU!  But most importantly you need to TRY to shake it and not let it snowball into more then it is.

Let me share with you what I do now. This is what works best for ME. This is after trying MANY different things.

First of all at the end of a bad/tough/off day, I don't focus on why it was bad. I ask myself many questions like: "What did I do well today?"
"What was a highlight in today?"
"How can I make tomorrow a better day?" EVERY morning (not just the ones after a bad day), I start my day with the G.O.O.D morning practice that someone shared with me last year.

As soon as I wake up, before I do anything else, I lay and think for a few minutes.

G - Gratitude. I think of all of the things I am grateful for on this day.

O - Openness. I tell myself that I am open to all that is positive. I tell myself that my heart is open to love. My soul is open to joy. My mind is open to learning. 
O - Opportunity.  I think about the opportunities I will have during the day and how I will approach them with excitement. I think about BEST case scenarios for those opportunities. I also think about the opportunities I will have to choose to have a good day!

D - Determination. I tell myself that my actions must be in alignment with what I want today to be, how I want today to feel. I want today to be a GREAT day, so I must show up for it. I must be present. I must be connected. I must be open. I must be happy. I must be joyful. I must be the best possible me that I can be today. 
Then I keep these thoughts at the forefront of my mind all day long! If things start to go sideways, I reflect on my GOOD morning earlier in the day and try to shift the day back in alignment with what I wanted today to be.

I have very few "bad" days now. 
Implement this into your life for a week or two and see how you feel. See if you feel a shift. <3

You see that building off in the distance? The one spewing into the sky? My husband has worked there for over 30 years. Shift work.

My biggest goal in 2020 is to create the financial freedom we need so that he can walk away from that place and retire without worry.

I joke with him all the time that he can be my "Operations Manager." He can operate our household. 😉 But in reality, I just want him to have the opportunity and freedom to do more of what he loves and not  have to go to that place anymore. To not have to work shift work anymore. I want him around for a long, long time and I worry that this job will kill him.

So that is my BIGGEST goal for 2020, but in order to achieve that I have a very long list of step by step goals I need to achieve weekly, daily, monthly to get us to the BIG GOAL.

So maybe look over your goals for 2020. Do you have step by step goals that will lead you to your BIGGEST goal?

Or maybe if you look at your list of goals, they actually lead to one overall BIG GOAL that you didn't even realize? 
For example, people often have the goal to lose weight. They think that is their BIG goal. But why do you want to lose weight? Ask why again. And again.  And again. (this likely sounds familiar). But get to your ROOT GOAL, the REAL reason you want to lose weight. Then let that be your BIG GOAL. Then losing weight is just one small step in order to get there. 
People have the goal to save more money. But why do you want to save more money? Ask why again. And again. And again.  Soon you will realize that saving money is just a step in what your actual BIG GOAL is. 
Give it a try!
